Nelson motioned to approve accounts payable of $2,792.38. Clements

O’Donnell read a letter from the

regarding the Paymaster Checkwriter Insurance Policy.
Now that the township uses computer-generated checks, the policy is no longer
needed. Nelson made motion to cancel the
policy. Clements seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

regarding plowing private driveways.

regarding selling gravel. Nelson
motioned that the township no longer sell gravel. Landowners should contract
with whomever they want. Clements seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
Earlier on this day O’Donnell had spoken with Rick Stadelman of the Wisconsin Towns Association about using the Foxxy Shopper as the township official newspaper. It isn’t legal at this time. The board approved using the shopper as an extra place to place notices along with the legal postings. The ad will be approximately 1” x 2”.
Reminder of the DOT public
information meeting at the Readstown Village Hall on April 28 from
New Business: Philothea Bezin suggested that the township maintain an email list of town landowners to help get information out. Mary Christenson suggested doing a mailing to announce the coming public hearing on April 30. Included would be a tear-off sheet with place for name and address. This would be sent to the township with $3 for those who would like to be on a mailing list.
Talk about comprehensive planning, village powers, zoning. Jim Holmberg said maybe the people do not want zoning. O’Donnell responded that the board had approved the referendum in the spring of 2006 for the township to vote on a zoning ordinance, as the people requested at the Annual Meeting on April 12. Holmberg did not remember this from the meeting. O’Donnell related her conversation with Rick Stadelman, legal council with the Wisconsin Towns Association. He stated that AB608 which was passed states that the comprehensive plan is advisory only. Holmberg said that he (Stadelman) is wrong.
