Chairman Ken Anderson called the
meeting to order at 7 p.m. Keith
Larson, Don Clements, Burdette Nelson, Karene Uhe, Doreen O’Donnell, Rosie McCullick, Laurie Copus, George
Butler, Robert and Linda Miller and Jim Holmberg were in attendance. Joan Glass
arrived at 7:05.
Proof of proper notice was
shown.
Nelson motioned to approve minutes of May 3, 2005, as read. Anderson seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
Vivian Guist
from the Readstown Advancement Association was not present.
Treasurer’s report: There is
approximately $108,000 in the checkbook currently.
Nelson motioned to approve accounts payable for the amount of
$2,816.06. Clements seconded. All in favor; motion carried. Payables
include $1,150 in donations for Kickapoo Cemetery Association, Kickapoo
Valley and North Crawford Rescue
Squads, and the Readstown EMS.
Policy re: Open Records
requests: Anderson motioned to set the policy for Open
Records as per WTA Attorney Carol Nawrocki’s email. Nelson
seconded. All in favor; motion carried. The policy will read: Paper copies
are $.15 per page. Requester will prepay if the cost of copying is more than
$5. If the cost of research is over $50, the current town hourly rate paid to
employees will apply.
Discussion
regarding sealcoating. FEMA mitigation money is already allocated for
Drake road from the Longmire farm to near Church road. The town will complete
the sealcoat to Church Road
and to USH 14. Mitigation money is also allocated for Moore
Road from the top of the hill to the Highman
driveway. The town will complete the sealcoat to River
Road and to USH 14.
Clerk will send a Board letter
of support for the Vernon County Road Naming and Uniform Addressing System
draft ordinance.
Vernon
County is considering the purchase
of a hydro seeder. It would charge the town $300-$600 per acre to use it, with
labor, materials and equipment to be provided by the county. Board is not
interested.
New Business: Rosie McCullick submitted an invoice for fencing materials she
purchased to replace a fence which was removed in order to move a house along Prestegard Road. The board
said to present the bill to the person who was moving the house. The road to Robert and Linda Miller’s home is
unnamed. They requested that the road be named Kickapoo
Center Lane in keeping with the history of the
area.
Open
Book is May 28, 2005, from 3-5 p.m. Board of Review is June 7, 2005, from 10
a.m. to noon.
The next meeting date is Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at 7 p.m.
