TOWN OF KICKAPOO

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

October 18, 2005

Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. Burdette Nelson, Keith Larson, Don Clements, Karene Uhe, Doreen O’Donnell, Ron Uhe and Bruce Hansen were in attendance.

Proof of proper notice was shown.

The minutes of October 3, 2005 were approved as read.

Nelson motioned to approve accounts payable of $3,532.46, which includes patrolmen payroll. Clements seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

Anderson made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2005-1, authorizing the issuance of citations for violations of the municipal code of ordinances and establishing a bond schedule. Clements seconded. Roll call vote: Anderson- yes; Nelson- yes; Clements- yes. Motion carried.

Clerk’s report:  In order to make the town polling place handicapped accessible, an 8-foot aisle adjacent to the handicapped parking area must be marked. Board reviewed the October building status report from the UDC building inspector. The final estimate of the January 1, 2005, population for the Town of Kickapoo is 588, with approximately 416 of voting age. Jaime Boado of the Department of Transportation had sent an email regarding the guardrail he had said the town could have when the work on Highway 14 is begun. Apparently the county has first dibs, and will be paying for it if they take it; otherwise, it becomes the property of the contractor. The town may negotiate with the contractor at that point. He apologized for the mistake. Board viewed the Farmland Preservation quarterly notification of relinquishments.

Board worked on the preliminary budget, lowering the $5,000 maximum per highway mile to balance revenues and expenditures.

No new business.

Next meeting date is set for November 1, 2005, at 7 p.m.

Anderson motioned to adjourn at 8:05; Clements seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

Respectfully submitted by

Doreen O’Donnell, Clerk
