REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

November 1, 2005

Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Burdette Nelson, Keith Larson, Don Clements, Karene Uhe, and Doreen O’Donnell were in attendance.

 

Proof of proper notice was shown.

 

Minutes of October 18, 2005, were read and approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Current checkbook balance is $81,219.00; shared revenue check due this month. Treasurer and board discussed a report of landowners who may have claimed lottery credits twice. Also discussed was information that should be included in the tax bills to be sent out next month.

 

Nelson made a motion to approve accounts payable of $5,080.50, which includes payroll. Clements seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

 

In finalizing the budget, the board discussed the fact that all private sales to landowners are included in the total for highway expenditures. Proposed budget approved for the Nov. 8, 2005, budget hearing.

 

New Business: one bid was turned in for the sander. Mike Lepke will purchase the sander for $200, to be made available after December 1.

 

Treasurer read an article from the Nov. 1, 2005, La Crosse Tribune. A woman was killed in a car fire while trying to turn around in her “long narrow driveway when she backed off the shoulder and into the grass, according to the sheriff’s department. Heat from the car’s catalytic converter is thought to have possibly ignited the dry grass….”

 

The date for the next meeting was set for Nov. 15, 2005, at 7 p.m.

 

Clements made motion to adjourn at 8:38 p.m. Anderson seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
