REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

May 16, 2006

Chairman Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. Keith Larson, Karene Uhe, Don Clements, Burdette Nelson, Doreen O’Donnell and Bruce Hansen were in attendance. Brooks the dog wandered in at 7:25, and his owner retrieved him a few minutes later.

 

Proof of proper notice was shown.

 

The minutes of May 1, 2006 were approved as read.

 

Treasurer’s report: checking account balance is $103,673. Accounts receivable- notices have been sent three times to each of the three delinquent tax payers (two personal property tax, and one omitted tax from two years ago). Treasurer instructed not to send any more bills. Personal property tax let go, as it would cost more to hire a lawyer than the taxes due; omitted tax to be put on this year’s tax bill.

 

Nelson made motion to approve accounts payable of $5,340.10. Anderson seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

 

The board will apply for the office of Justice Assistance Radio Grant.

 

Chairman signed the MOA with the county for the handicapped voting machine.

 

Board will purchase chloride again this year.

 

Board viewed the UDC building report.

 

Nelson made motion to pay election inspectors the current poll worker hourly rate for election training and drive time to the training, plus mileage.

 

Reminder that Open Book is May 27, 2006, 1-3 p.m. Board of Review is June 5, 2006, 10- noon.

 

New Business: Hansen reported on a meeting he attended at the Kickapoo Reserve.

 

Next meeting date set for Thursday, June 1, 2006, at 7 p.m.

 

At 7:53 Anderson made motion to adjourn. Clements seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
