REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

August 31, 2006

Chairman Kenneth Anderson opened the meeting at 7:12 p.m. Karene Uhe, Burdette Nelson, Don Clements, and Doreen O’Donnell were also in attendance.

 

Proof of proper notice was shown.

 

The minutes of August stand as read.

 

Burdette motioned to approve accounts payable of $5,486.11. Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

 

The underground fuel tank is illegal. A new tank must be installed by September 28, 2006. The town is not insured to remove the existing tank, and the work must be hired out. One estimate is $6,700 for tank removal, and a new tank purchased and installed. The existing pump can be used. Ken motioned to have the tank installed at the existing site, but above ground. Don seconded. Discussion to put tank at the recycling site if existing site is too close to shop building.

 

A new sander was purchased for one of the trucks last year. The sander on the second truck needs to be replaced. There is money in the machinery account, but the town is already over the budget maximum for highway expenditures. Burdette proposed that the sander be purchased for delivery at the beginning of December, and paid for in January of 2007, as we did last year. Ken made a motion to that effect. Burdette seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

 

Board reviewed the current UDC report and the report of Equalized Values. The town will purchase insurance for the new handicapped voting machine. The public test for the handicapped machine will be September 7, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. Posting must be at least 48 hours in advance. The machines haven’t been delivered yet, but the county clerk expects them on Saturday, September 2.

 

Old business: letter to Schwaller residence on B & L Road, regarding the driveway came back.

 

No new business.

 

The next meeting was set for September 18, 2006, at 7:00 p.m.

 

Ken motioned to adjourn at 8:13 p.m. Burdette seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
