REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

January 2, 2007

Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Burdette Nelson, Don Clements, Keith Larson, Karene Uhe, Doreen O’Donnell, and Janet Kellum were in attendance.

 

Proof of proper notice was shown.

 

Burdette made a motion to approve accounts payable of $33,464.16, which includes quarterly payroll, and payment for the new sander. Don seconded; motion carried.

 

Ken made a motion to purchase a used pickup for $3,400. Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

 

The board viewed driveway and building permits purchased from July- Dec. 2006.

 

Assessor Report: “Progress continues in the proper classification of lands and their uses for individual property owners. Field inspection of properties will begin in January.”

 

A bid notice will be put in the paper for one week for the old sander and the pickup.

 

The board discussed the caucus procedure.

 

Old Business: The assessor’s response to the town property tax bill is as follows: “If a private party owned the property on 1/1/06, then the tax is due for the entire year, even though a public entity took title during the year.”

 

New Business: The board discussed which road signs to replace this year. No action taken. Board also discussed sale of old road signs.

 

The next meeting date was set for January 17, 2007, at 7:00 p.m.

 

Caucus date is Saturday, January 6, at 2 p.m. The next planning meeting is January 10, at 7 p.m.

 

Ken made a motion to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
