REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at
Proof of proper notice was shown.
The minutes of
Treasurer’s report: current bank checkbook balance is $232,708, much of it property tax money. Year-end savings is $37,191.93, an amount which includes the machinery account of $22,500, and $15,000 in general savings. Karene recommended that a second savings account be opened, and the two accounts be separated, for ease in bookkeeping. There is also $3,900 from amount budgeted for 2007 to be put into the machinery account, after the purchase of the pickup and sander. Burdette made a motion to put the $26,400 machinery account into a 1-year CD. Ken seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
Ken motioned to approve $10,110.46 accounts payable. Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
Clerk’s report: board viewed UDC building report; primary election is February 20; Kickapoo Trading Post would be interested in taking the old road signs in on consignment; town cleanup day is April 21, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Caucus report: Ken Anderson will run unopposed for Chairman; no one is running for Supervisor #1; Don Clements is running unopposed for Supervisor #2. Janet Kellum and Chuck Norman are running for the Clerk position; and Karene Uhe and Ruth Wild are running for the Treasurer position.
Bids for the old pickup and sander were opened. Only one bid for each; $75 for the pickup and $25 for the sander.
Town tax bill: town is liable for the easement property along the new roads it took over, for 2006. The town is tax exempt after that. Ken made a motion to pay the bill; Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
Ken made a motion to replace the road signs in alphabetical order; Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
