REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

April  5, 2007

 

 

Chairman Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Keith Larson, Burdette Nelson, Don Clements, Karene Uhe, Doreen O’Donnell, Chuck Norman. Ray Key, Ray Hummel, Chuck Stelzner, J.D. Johnson, and Steve and Terri Elfrink were in attendance.

 

Proof of proper notice was shown

 

The minutes of the March 15, 2007 meeting stand as read.

 

Ken made a motion to approve disbursements of $25,848.93, which included quarterly payroll and lottery settlement payments. Burdette seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

 

J.D. Johnson, Chuck Stelzner, and Steve and Terri Elfrink addressed the board. People have been driving too fast on Church road. They requested 35 mph signs. Because of enforcement difficulties, etc., the board did not approve this, but will place the “Slow, Children at Play” signs which are on E. River Rd. near a now-vacant house, on Church Road, near the Elfrink residence.

 

Comprehensive Plan printing/mailing expenditures: Ken made a motion to pay $754.03 for the printing of the plan, labels, and envelopes. Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.

 

Board discussed sale of old road signs. No decision made.

 

Bill Meeks of Southwest Sanitation gave a bid to the board of $57/ two 6-yard dumpsters. Town and Country charges $66. Burdette made a motion to go with Southwest Sanitation, dumpsters needed by dump day on April 28. Ken seconded. All in favor; motion carried. Clerk will contact Town and Country for final pickup on April 24, and also Southwest Sanitation.

 

Clerk Report: Kickapoo Valley Association has invited the board to join, and to attend meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., at the Readstown Municipal Building. New board members will be attending a Board of Review WisLine seminar at the UW-Extension, date to be determined. Board viewed UDC building report. Doreen has been cleaning the town hall before each meeting, for $20 per month. As she is outgoing, she is discontinuing this service. Ray Hummel offered to donate a space heater for the office, as Doreen is taking hers with her.

 

Swearing in of officers is 6:30 on Tuesday, April 10, at the town hall.

 

Old Business: no word from Metco; treasurer may either hold the check or void it; payment to be made when the gas tank is put in. No word regarding the radio grant.

 

No New Business.

 

Date for next meeting- April 16, 2007, at 7 p.m. Annual meeting is April 10, 2007, at 7 p.m. Both meetings are in the town hall.

 

Don motioned to adjourn at 8:30 p.m. Ken seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
