REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

August 1st, 2007

Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Don Clements, Ray Key, Chuck Norman, Karene Uhe, Doreen O’Donnell, Rita Ioriatti, William Ioriatti, Harley McMillen, and Jim Holmberg were in attendance

Proof of proper notice was shown.

The minutes of July 16th, 2007 stand as read.

 Upon review of payables, Don made the motion to approve total disbursements of $52,770.81. Ray seconded. All in favor: motion carried.

Mr. & Mrs. Ioriatti were notified that the fence as completed was unsatisfactory and would be completed at their expense by a third party. They were both present to protest the board’s decision and asked to be given more specific details as to what was wrong with the fence and a chance to correct the deficiencies. It was apparent that the job of building the fence was a little more than they were up to considering the terrain, the heat of the season and their experience. It was agreed that they would be given a chance to work in consultation with the contractor in good faith to keep the expense down and to specifically correct the following deficiencies which they were presented this evening.

1. The dead tree that was falling down needs to be eliminated as part of the fence.
2. Wire spacing needs to be spaced 4” – 8” from the ground, and 13” – 16” apart. Top wire should be 46” to 50” from ground.
3. Waterway has to be secure with a steel or wood post on either side.
4. All wires throughout the length of the fence need to be tightened.
5. The work must be completed by August 13^th.

TRIP (Town Road Improvement Project) is a program that provides an opportunity to get state aid for town road improvements. These are tax dollars from the state that someone else will get if we don’t apply for them.  The town board needs to inspect and report on needed road improvements and get approval from the electorate at the budget or a special meeting to commit the funds for which the town would be reimbursed. A motion was made by Ray to initiate this action and seconded by Don.

TRIP and PASER inspection is scheduled for 10:00 a.m, Tuesday, August 14th^nd by all board members and the town clerk.

A review of Emergency Management training requirements was read by the Clerk.

Date for next regular board meeting – Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007, at 7:00 pm at the town hall.

Don made motion to adjourn at 8:00 pm. Ray seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
