REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin

October 1, 2007

Ken Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Don Clements, Ray Key, Chuck Norman, Karene Uhe, Ray Hummel and Jim Holmberg were in attendance.

Proof of proper notice was shown.

The minutes of September 20, 2007 stand as read.

 Upon review of payables, Ken made the motion to approve total disbursements of $16,924.63. Ray seconded. All in favor: motion carried.

FEMA has not yet contacted us.

Chuck read the Town of Liberty’s Private Driveway policy. It is agreed that town roads come first. It is proposed that post cards be left at residences to return to the town clerk if people want their driveway plowed for the season. The proposed charge is to be $50 per season per driveway with $100 per season for driveways exceeding ¼ mile, payable in advance. No driveway will be plowed if the town board determines it would not be safe or practical for the equipment to do so. Angle of approach, width of driveway, unstable surface, slop of driveway, turn-a-rounds for long driveways or place to put the snow would be some of the criteria considered.

 

Ken motioned we keep the town pick-up for now. Don seconded.

 

Clean-up day went well, all dumpsters were filled.

 

Audience to visitors: Ray and Jim were allowed to participate in the discussion throughout the meeting regarding the snow plowing. Jim was not overly concerned when the plowing was available as it was only after the worst storms he needed it. Ray Hummel felt the town should make money at it.

 

Date for next regular board meeting – Tuesday, October 16th, 2007, at 7:00 pm at the town hall.

Ken made motion to adjourn at 8:10 pm. Don seconded. All in favor; motion carried.
