Kickapoo Board of Supervisors
February 26, 2008
Attendees: Ken Anderson, Don Clements, Ray Key, Keith Larson, Karene Uhe, Alan Buss, Harley McMillen, Eric Gilgenbach, Margaret Larson
Ken Anderson called meeting to order at 7:00PM, proof of proper notice was given.
February 5, 2008 meeting minutes were approved as read.
Clerk’s report: 135 electors voted on February 19. Patrolmen’s checks now show comp time balance.
treasurer’s report:
Number of parcels for tax collection was 1216 up from 1130 last year. 110 parcels are delinquent. 3 delinquent personal property. State statutes require that 1% interest be charged per month. Our software automatically adds interest. Dog licenses sold 28.
Next action on our loan is an April 22nd payment.
approve accounts payable in amount of $10,048.39 – motion by Ken to accept Don seconded.
recycling discussion – we are getting too much loose material, especially cardboard that is not bundled. We will be posting recycling requirements and have flyers to hand out. Ray will make a flyer and Al will print them out. Perhaps we should go back to using clear bags so that people don’t hide recyclables in black bags. Ken made motion to go back to clear bags, Don seconded. We can implement the change after spring clean up. We will have clear bags available to sell at the recycling center.
new business - clean up day is April 19th. We got sand from Brockway and salt from the county. Town radios will be repaired next week. If we have money we should look into buying a mower. Discussion of different mower types and maintenance needs of current mower and tractor. We will research new tractor and mower options and check the towns association newspaper. Kenny will talk to Franklin to see what they are using.
