TOWN OF KICKAPOO
REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Kickapoo Town Hall, Readstown, Wisconsin
December 16, 2008
Attendees: Ken Anderson, Ray Key, Don Clements, Karene Uhe, Harley McMillen, Ray Hummel, Darrel Alexander, Eric Gilenbach, Chuck Stelzner, Hugh Harper, Jeff Green, Bruce Hansen, Burdette Nelson, James Holmberg
Meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. Proof of proper notice was given.
Minutes from the November 11, 2008 were approved as read with the correction of the distance of Song Bird Lane.
Accounts payable in the amount of $81,595.50 were approved by a motion of Ken Anderson and seconded by Ray Key.
The township clerk distributed “Procedures for Nomination of Candidates by Caucus” by the Wisconsin Election Board . The date of caucus was set for Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 PM at the Town Hall. Legal Notice will appear in the Epitaph.
The treasurer reported the checking account balance to be $9,700, the savings account balance is $249,295 and the Certificate of Deposit was in the amount of $43,949. The treasurer requested a renewal of Ordinance Number 2003-4. Ray made a motion to renew the ordinance and said motion was seconded by Don Clements. A copy of the original ordinance is incorporated into the minutes as Attachment A.
Emerald Faulkner's probation has been completed and by a motion of Ray Key and seconded by Don Clements he was placed on full time basis with the township.
The board requested that a notice for acceptance of bids for Township Assessor be placed in the Wisconsin Towns Association publication and also be placed on the website of the Wisconsin Association of Assessing Officers.
Ray Key made a motion and seconded by Don Clements to conduct a dog count for the township. It was agreed that Ken Anderson would conduct the count for $1.00 per dog plus mileage.
Audience to Visitors: Concern was expressed if adequate foundation had been laid for the Song/Bird Lane. Ken Anderson said that Kramer has agreed to rebuild the road this spring at their cost.
Members of the audience expressed concern that Ken Anderson had misrepresented himself when clearing Aikens Road. Mr. Anderson indicated that he had not done so and that he had paid for additional help personally.
A resident indicated that snow plowing had not occurred on Hickory Point, Cull de Sac Roads and Grouse Lane. This information was passed on to the patrolmen.
The date for the next meeting is January 6, 2009 at 6:00 PM.
Ken Anderson made a motion to adjourn and Ray Key seconded the motion.. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM.
