REGULAR BOARD MINUTES
KICKAPOO TOWN HALL READSTOWN, WISCOSNIN
6:30 P.M.
August 4, 2009
Attendees: Jeff Clements, Burdette Nelson, Andy Kellogg, Harley McMillen, Mitch Mabb
Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M.
Fire Chief Mitch Mabb had asked that our meeting be held one week earlier than previously announced. This request was made due to the Town of Kickapoo's need to provide support to the Readstown Fire Department to purchase a water tanker for the year 2010. Mitch Mabb explained that the Department of Rural Development has made available grants to fire departments to purchase new equipment. The cost sharing for these these grants is 75/25 %. Time constraints of the grant deadlines require a proposal be submitted by the end of August. Since the amount of our share of the grant has not been budgeted in our 2009 budget nor approved by the citizens of Kickapoo, it was decided that a Special Town Meeting will be called for August 25 at 7:00 PM to discuss the merits of participating in the grant proposal. The Readstown Fire Department will be in attendance at the Special Town Meeting of August 25
Proof of Proper notice was provided. Minutes of the July 14, 2009 were read and approved by a motion of Andy Kellogg and seconded by Jeff Clements.
The date of the Fall Clean Up was set for October 3, the first Saturday in October,
Burdette Nelson made a motion to approve the accounts payable in the amount of $20,187.24 with a second by Andy Kellogg.
New Road Signs will be reviewed and a list of those roads that intersected with Highway 131 and Highway 14 were given as top priority for replacement necessitated by the state's new guidelines for the reflectivity and size of the numbers and wording on the signs. This list will be presented at the next board meeting.

A Personnel Policy Manual was presented and reviewed by the town board. Andy Kellogg suggested that a mention of the fall and spring clean up dates should be included in the road crew's assignments as well as a responsibility of the Board of Supervisors. No action was taken on the manual. Any resident wishing to read the manual should contact the clerk's office.
Building Permits issued in the month of July were for Judy/Greg Binversie for a new home, Tony Urban for a new garage, Adam & Karen Warren for a bathroom and kitchen, Erik Gundacker for a Wind Turbine.
The date for the next regular scheduled board meeting is Tuesday September 10, 2009 at 6:30 PM.
Burdette Nelson made a motion to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Andy Kellogg. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM
